The incident occurred on the night of February 14, when the culprits reportedly cut through a school window and escaped with the equipment used for smart classes.
The stolen devices were part of the school’s digital learning initiative, helping students study through videos and computer-based lessons. With the equipment gone, students have been forced to return to traditional methods, affecting their learning process.
In a rare and emotional appeal, schoolgirls requested the thieves to return the computers, saying, “Uncle thief, please give back our computers so we can continue our studies.” The headmaster has lodged a written complaint with Garhwa police and demanded quick recovery of the stolen items. Local representatives have also urged the police to take swift action, calling the theft a crime against children’s future.
