कुमारडूंगी के कलाईया गांव में मंगलवार रात जो हुआ, वह अंधविश्वास की सबसे क्रूर तस्वीर है। डायन होने के आरोप में महिला पर पेट्रोल छिड़क कर आग लगा दी गई, उसकी गोद में सो रहा मासूम भी नहीं बच सका। पति ने भागकर जान बचाई और सुबह पुलिस को सूचना दी। प्रारंभिक जांच में सामने आया कि इस जघन्य कांड में एक ही परिवार के कई लोग शामिल थे। घटना के बाद 12 लोगों ने थाने में आत्मसमर्पण किया। गांव में तनाव का माहौल है और पुलिस बल तैनात किया गया है। यह वारदात बताती है कि अंधविश्वास आज भी कानून से बड़ा बन बैठा है।
Superstition Turns Deadly: Woman and Infant Burned Alive in Jharkhand, 12 Accused Surrender
A shocking incident of superstition-driven violence has come to light in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. In Kaliya village under Kumardungi police station area, a 32-year-old woman and her two-month-old infant were brutally burned alive after being branded as a “witch.” The attack took place on Tuesday night around 9 p.m.
According to the victim’s husband, he was sleeping at home with his wife and children when a relative called him outside. As soon as they came out, a group of people allegedly accused the woman of practicing witchcraft, poured petrol on her and set her on fire. The infant was also caught in the flames and died on the spot. The husband, though seriously burnt, managed to escape and informed the police the next morning.
Police recovered the bodies and admitted the injured man to hospital. Preliminary investigation suggests that several family members were involved in the crime. So far, 12 accused have surrendered, and further interrogation is underway.
